Perky Puppies!

 Our last full week of school and my very last newsletter. Mrs. Crouch and I are very sad. We just wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed this class. They are a pretty special group of children. Thank you so much for sharing them with us this year. They kept us on our toes and gave us many good laughs.

The unit Flowers and Insects has ended. The children enjoyed going outside and painting with fly swatters. After the paint dried we put black fingerprints  to make flies...."Shoooo fly don't bother me!" We made a beautiful honey bee. The children watched an experiment with a caterpillar and butterfly. They were put in seperate bowls of water. Each day we checked to see if they would get bigger. They grew bigger every day! WOW! We celebrated the end of this unit with "dirt with worms" one day and a caterpillar cake another.

It has been a wonderful last full week of school. Our beach unit has been fun. The boys and girls are busy working on, "Red Crab, Red Crab, What Do You See?" They are taking their time and doing a great job. I am very proud of them. We also made a blue crab and purple octopus using hand prints. They are really cute! We are singing fish songs, reading fish stories and doing fingerplays about sea creatures. Next week, we will see if we can do an experiment with a fish. We will watch to see if it will get bigger each day.

Next week is going to be a week of fun! We are going to make sure we get everything finished before Wednesday. We are practicing for our program every day. Our End of the Year party is Wednesday around 10:30. The boys and girls are looking forward to it and are very excited.

I am going to send the scrapbooks home, hopefully, by Monday or Tuesday. If your child goes to Aftercare, we will give them to you when you drop your child off that morning. If all goes well this weekend, I will have them ready to deliver to you....ENJOY!

Thanks to Marlie for the yummy popsicles! We enjoyed them on the playground!! What a special surprise!

Thanks to Will and Alex for the gummy worms, Lauren for Oreos and Erin for chocolate pudding. Our "dirt with worms" was pretty tasty!

 Yearbooks are on sale in the Art Room or School Office. Be sure to get yours before they run out! The price is $25.

Our End of the Year Class Party is May 28th.

Our End of the Year Program is May 29th. Children will be dismissed from the Perky Puppy room immediately after the program. Mark your calendar....you do not want to miss it. These children love to sing and do a great job every time. I am soooo proud of my Perky Puppies.

Scrapbooks are just about finished. I will send these home along with the DVD by Monday or Tuesday. I hope you enjoy it.
