The last few days of August and the beginning of September were very busy.  We read "The Kissing Hand" and  talked about our pets.  We also did a coloring book on all the things we need to do for our pets.  In addition, we painted and made yellow ducks that are hanging outside our room, and we made a very special book on our classmates.  We even went on a "Bear Hunt".

Beginning on Tuesday, September 7th, we will be talking about the letter "A", the number 1, and the shape of a circle.  Our special theme for the week will be "Me and My Family".  Please look for the form in your child's blue folder that will allow your input as to the information on your family's tree.

This is a repeat from last week, but I thought you might want one more explanation on behavior policy.  Behavior folders are orange and will come home DAILY beginning Wednesday, September 1st.  Please make sure you check the folder every night and return it to school each morning. Be aware that this means the infamous sticks will start to be moved in response to inappropriate behavior.  Do not be surprised with a little unhappiness as the children adjust to this method of behavior modification.  No one is allowed a trip to the treat jar at the end of the week if they have not stayed on "green" all week.

Work folders are blue and will only come home once a week.  They will come home on Thursdays and should be emptied and returned on your child's next day at school.

Thank you so much to all of you that came to our Back To School night on the 31st.  It is always good to be able to meet and talk with the parents of the children with which we spend so much time.

A very special "THANK  YOU" to the Phipps' for their donation to the All Saints' Annual Fund, which goes directly for use by our classroom, and to the Clark's for their gift to Walmart.  Both families were extremely generous, and I am most grateful for your gifts.
