Admissions Policy
ADMISSIONS POLICY

All Saints’ Episcopal Day School’s academic program is intended for students of average to above average ability.

All students apply to All Saints’ School by completing the Application for Enrollment. Children should be three, four, five, or six years old by September 1st of the particular academic year before they enter 3K, 4K, 5K, or 1st grade, respectively. The application fee is $100. This is a nonrefundable admissions fee unless the class level is at capacity.

An admissions assessment is required for all applicants, beginning in 4K. A readiness test is used at the kindergarten level and an ability test is given to children for grades 1-6. The Admissions Committee evaluates a prospective student's test results, academic ability, previous school performance, and level of maturity to determine eligibility for admission.

These applicants are given priority for admission, in the first year they are eligible for admission*:  siblings of current All Saints' students and graduates, children of faculty and staff, children of alumni, and children of All Saints’ Episcopal Church members, who are in good standing.

Waiting List Policy

If the Headmaster has determined that a class level is at capacity, we maintain a waiting list in order of the date applications are received. The following procedure should be followed:

  1. When you have completed an Application for Enrollment, you may mail or bring it to the school office. Applications that are hand-delivered to the school office receive priority over those that are received in the mail on the same day.
  2. When the Headmaster determines that there is an opening, the first waiting list applicant will be contacted for pre-enrollment assessment (testing). After this process is successfully completed, the student will be invited to enroll.

Important Information about Admissions
5K Change  & “Priority Admission” Policy Revision for 2007-08
from the Board of Directors

1. All 5K Classes to be Full Day
The Board of Directors has approved a change in our 5K program. Beginning with the 2007-08 school year, all 5K classes will be full day (8:00 a.m. – 2:40  p.m.).
Previously, we have offered a half day 5K class. After careful study and consideration, we believe that all of our future 5K students will need a full school day to adequately cover the curriculum and other important components of our program.

2.   Priority Admissions Policy Revision
In the past several years, the Admissions Office has had a significant increase in the number of inquiries and applicants for admission to All Saints' Episcopal Day School. There is no guarantee that an opening will be available for a student who does not enroll in 3K. Our curriculum is designed for 3K through 6th grade, with a specific progression of learning goals and objectives each year. We encourage all parents to enroll their children in 3K to take advantage of the full benefits of our strong academic foundation.

For many years, our admissions policy has stated:
“These applicants are given priority for admission: siblings of current All Saints' students and graduates, children of faculty and staff, children of alumni, and children of All Saints' Episcopal Church members, who are in good standing.”

The Board of Directors has endorsed the following revised policy
“These applicants are given priority admission status in the first year they are eligible for admission : siblings of current All Saints' students and graduates, children of faculty and staff members, children of alumni, and children of All Saints' Episcopal Church members, who are in good standing. The application must be received by the Admissions Office staff before January 31st of that year’s enrollment period. "

This means, for example, that when the son or daughter of an alumnus is eligible for 3K, he or she will have priority admission status for that year only.

This revised admissions policy is effective January 1, 2007. Applications* received in the Admissions Office through December 31, 2006 will be considered under the previous policy.

*Important Note
“Priority admission” status refers to the order in which applicants are considered. The Admissions Committee considers all applicants for admission according to specific requirements that include academic ability, social maturity, and other indications of readiness and aptitude for the All Saints' Episcopal Day School program.
Applications may be filed at any time, for any school year.
